Mauricio lives in Te Awanga near Hastings and paints on various mediums. In 2019 he was selected to be the only artist for the HB Wine Auction.

From his Wine Bottle series comes this bottle of Merlot, a 3-dimensional piece painted on a piece of 4×2 wood, measuring 51cm high by 9cm wide.
